Shingeki no Kyojin Cosplay Development

Well lets get this post started shall we. Didnt realise just how much I have missed cosplaying. No, I'll rephrase that. I didnt realise how much I missed making things.
As Shingeki no Kyokin blew me away and inspired me to try to get back into cosplay and prop making.
First things first, I hunted down some white trousers and as I was about to move and had no idea how to make the jacket, I got one custom made online. Which I love to bits.

Now I got lucky here too. I have small feet, Im like size six, so i could order a pair of boots I wanted quite easily, a pair of female boots at that. Ive seen a lot of male cosplayers on other sites have trouble getting boots their sizes

After I figured out my plans on how to potentially put the harness part of the 3D gear and got my mits on some antiqued fake leather, I gave it a go. Even after all the experimenting I have so much of that fabric left. Will come in handy though for future stuff

The blades were made from 5mm balsa wood. The handles are three layers glued together and then carved into shape with a scapel and sandpaper.
Since making these, Ive realised what way i should have made them in order to actually get them to really look like the anime counterparts. So will be remaking them one day, plus with proper colour schemes.

I basically extended some boxes I got home work back when this project first came into fruition, when i saw them I knew I had to have them. Even my gluing up looks like a mess. I folded 2mm card so there would be less open joins overall. The vertical strips and the front are 4mm foam board.

I did order another type of silver paint but it never showed, so I couldnt do what I really wanted. Next time perhaps. Im glad I got the blades to stay at midpoint

Never knew how handy a ps2 could be, it helped me while gluing so often haha. And yes I do enjoy making a mess.
This is where I began to panic and completely attatched the boxes to the harness, which I then sewed to the trousers. I was so afraid of them moving down while walking.

Now all I have to do is wait for some of the photos a friend took, Ill keep reminding him dont you worry
I learnt so much from doing this project again. Mainly, make templates and prototypes. Im so rusty. I think they could be so much better and want to do them again.
Cant wait
